Difference between Na and Na+ in terms of radius

Na has 11 elections. Therefore it has 3 shells of 2,8 and 1 elections respectively. On the other hand Na+ gives one electron and is left with only 2 shells of 2 and 8 electrons respectively. Therefore radius of Na is greater than that of Na+.
