Insectivorous plants are carnivorous plants which have heterotrophic mode of nutrition whereas normal green plants are autotrophic.
Insectivorous plants grow in places where nutrient in soil is very less and insufficient.
They are found in acidic bogs, fens etc.
Though Insectivorous plants have heterotrophic mode of nutrition but they carry out photosynthesis.
Actually the enzymes required in the detailed process of photosynthesis specially for light harvesting is taken as nutrients by taking insects.
