Onshore winds:

  • Onshore winds are the winds that blow from a large water body or sea towards the land.
  • Onshore winds bring moisture with them.
  • On shore winds blow during the day time.

Offshore winds:

  • Offshore winds are the winds that blow from land to sea or the water body.
  • These are dry winds that generally blow at night time.
  • Offshore winds are also caused because of the difference in temperature and pressure of the land and the sea or water body.
