non optical aids:-
these often include (1) tactual aids ( using sense of touch ) . the visually impaired can learn to read and write by using a special touch system called the Braille . this system make use of raised dots on a paper . (2) auditory aids ( using sense of hearing ) include audio cassettes, tape recorders, audio CDs, audio books and electronic devices like computer / calculators / closed circuit television. these , with the help of a software programme , can transfer text files into sound.

optical aids :-
these include lenses and telescopic aids. while suitable lens combinations are used to rectify visual limitations, the telescopic aids can help to view class demonstrations and the blackboard .

The non-optical aids bacikly divided into two parts are:

1. Tactual aids:

2.Auditory aids:
auditory aids help to visually challenged persons to develop their sense of hearing by the recodio audio CDs,audio books etc.
