difference between polar and equatorial regions

polar region is cold while equatorial region is hot..
in whole year at least once in polar region sun doesn't rise and once sun doesn't sets..
but in equatorial region this doesn't happen..
whole year there is mostly cold in polar region while there is hot in equilateral region..
