POLITICAL EXECUTIVE:

Have a shorter term.

Elected by the people.                                          

Answerable to the people.

Are not always highly educated or  skilled in a particular field.

eg; Prime Minister

PERMANENT EXECUTIVE

Have a longer term and retire from government.

Elected by the government

Answerable to government.

Are highly educated or skilled in a particular field.

POLITICAL EXECUTIVE

-Elected by the people for a specific period of time

-take big decisions

-excersise more power that the permanent executive

-decides overall framework and objectives

-can be changed by elections

PERMANENT EXECUTIVE

-are appointed on a long term basis

-work under the political executive and and carry out day to day administration

-is usually more educated and acts as a advisor for the political executive

-are permanent and stay in office even when the ruling party changes
