Pollination is the transfer of pollen grains of one flower (male anther) to another (female stigma) whereas fertilization is the transfer of male sperm to the female egg.

Pollination takes place externally whereas fertilization is an internal process.

Pollination is further divided into two types i.e. self and cross pollination whereas fertilization has no types.
