According to the ancient Indian school systems, or rather the gurukuls the pathshalas, the Pradhanacharya is the principal whereas the Pracharya is what we contemporarily consider a class teacher.
The word pradhan means head, and Acharya means teacher or guru.
Pradhanacharya refers to head teacher, i.e. the principal of an institution.
