primary oocyte is a diploid cell formed in foetal ovary when the gamete mother cell,oogonia is arrested at prophase 1 of meisois.

secondary oocyte is a haploid cell formed from primary oocyte that completed its first meiotic division,during puberty and produce the female gamete ova.
