Prudential reasons are based on the judgement of the right things to be done, after calculating the profits or losses to be incurred by these decisions.

On the other hand, moral reasons are mainly carried out after taking into consideration the morality of the society and thus form the spirit of the vital decisions.

According to Indian Constitution, the reservation for the minorities is a prudential decision; while the decentralisation of governmental powers is based on a moral reason.
