Psychotic describes the mental state of an individual in which they can experience hallucinations and delusions. It does not mean that the person is mentally sick, so this can happen to anyone. A neurotic disorder can be referred to the class of mental condition that involves unwanted emotional state that includes anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, social phobia etc. Psychotic can cause a person to lose contact with reality whereas Neurotic people are more in touch with the reality. The psychotic disorder can interfere with day to day life functions while it does not occur with a Neurotic disorder. Psychotic people require pharmacological treatment while neurotic may respond to Behaviour therapy.
