Firstly, it's furanose and pyranose. Thedifference lies in which carbon atom of the straight chain Allose holds the oxygen that closes the ring to make the ring formation of either furanose orpyranose. Furanose is the five membered ring with the 1-4 carbons serving as the ether bonds
