1) Lok Sabha, as per its name, it is the assembly in which the people elect their representatives.

In Rajya Sabha, the representatives are chosen by the elected members of the State Assemblies.

2) Rajya Sabha is considered as the permanent body

whereas the Lok Sabha dissolved after every five years.

  • It's also known as lower house
  • It's Members are directly elected by people.
  • Lok sabha represents the peple of india.
  • The Maximum strength of the lok sabha is 552 nd shall not exceed more than 552.
  • Out of 552, 530 members are directly elected by the people of different States.
  • The remaining 20 are elected from the union territories.
  • The rest 02 members str nominated by the president from the Anglo-Indian Community.
  • To become a member of lok sabha, One person must be a citizen of india and must not be less than 25 years of age.

  • The second House is the council of States know as Rajya sabha.
  • It's also known as The upper house.
  • it's members are indirectly elected by people.
  • Rajya sabha represents the states of India.
  • The Maximum strength of the rajya sabha is 250.
  • Out of 250, 12 members are nominated by the president of India.
  • The remaining 238 are elected from the states nd the two union territories (Delhi & Puducherry) by the elected members of the state legislative assemblies.
