An argument against it would be to refer to the utilization once again. (d) (0.5) Explain the difference between deadline monotonicscheduling and earliest dead- line first. Answer. The first is a fixed priority policy that refers to the relativedeadline..

The main difference between deadline and rate monotonic is the target being determined as per the time-limit.

  • The deadline monotic is assigned based on the deadline period, whereas the rate monotonic is based on the shortest release period.
  • While the rate monotonic can be easily implemented from fifo scheduling, deadline monotonic follows a slower process.
  • In the case of rate monotonic the priority is taken from activation frequency, while in deadline priority is given to the ready process that has to be completed first.
