the ans is Simple. Pinochet’s way of ruling was through fear and violence, just as the way he got into and out of power. Allende on the other hand, was an idealistic and naive man. He believed he could stablish a socialist government in a world divided by the cold war, going against the U.S. and their interest in this region, thus leading to one of the darkest periods in the Chilean history.
