Difference between septate and aseptate hypha (kingdom fungi)

Septate hyphae have cross-walls (called
septa) that divide the cytoplasm into
segments. They usually aren't complete
divisions, so cytoplasm can still flow
between them, but they're enough to keep
major cellular components from wandering
around too much.
Nonseptate hyphae are just long,
continuous tubes of cytoplasm. There are
no septa that roughly distinguish one cell
from another.
