Gully erosion takes place on the steep slopes of the hills. When there is a heavy downpour of rain the soil is removed by water flowing along definite paths down the slope in channel . Sheet erosion during heavy rainfall an area where there is no vegetation cover the rainfall instead of sinking stimulates the eroshive power and washes the top soil down the slope
