Difference between short-circuit and overloading..in table form..ok
Please help
Answers
Short-Circuit
Occurs when live comes in contact with neutral wire
High amount of current flows through the circuit
The potential difference at the point of short-circuiting will drop to zero
Overload
Occurs when large number of appliances are turned on simultaneously
Low amount of current flows through the circuit as compared to short-circuit
The potential difference does not drop to zero but it does reduce

1.
when bare live wire or nutrual wire come very close to each other or touches each other ,Than resistance of circuit very high and Hence high electric current produce. This is called short circuit.
2.
In this case large amount of heat is transmitted it causes fire, .
Overloading
1.
overloading means excessive flow of current.
2.
if more electric appliances of high power rating live electric iron, electric heater, etc.are switched on same time, they draw an extremely large current from circuit it is called overloading....
Hope it helps you
