Difference between soap and detergent.
Detergent may be used in presence of hard water but soap can't.
Because soap react with minerals present in hard water and form precipitate /scum; insoluble in water. so this scum sticks to walks of container. But detergent form a souble precipitate when react with hard water.
Detergent may be used in acidic medium but soap can't.
I hope it will help you
