Difference between sour service and non sour service

These both terms are exactly opposite in meaning to each other.

Sour service can be defined as a situation where in the environment there exists Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S). This substance present in the environment is   hazardous to the human health. It could also  significantly impact steel drilling tubulars performances in service operations as well.

On the other hand non sour services are those which do not include this harmful substance. Examples include, Vallourec which offers a large range of OCTG High Colla​pse grades, specifically to meet the most challenging collapse conditions of well-environment as well as load cases scenarios.
