Speed => It is the distance covered by the body per unit time. It is scaler quantity. It gives an idea about rapidity of an motion of body.

Velocity =>It is the displacement of the body per unit time. It is a vector quantity. It gives an idea about rapidity as well as positon of body in motion.

Vector........

1 ) Distance travelled by a body per unit time in a definite direction is called velocity .
