What is difference between floating and swimming?

1 Swimming is a voluntary action whereas floating is not so Anything which is lighter than the liquid (ie mostly water) it floats

2 Swimming can be in the direction of the flow, against the flow or in any other direction whereas floating can only be along the flow

3 Generally the swimming bodies

are heavier than the liquid (water) but floating bodies are lighter

4 Special efforts are required in swimming but not so in floating

5 Generally living bodies can swim and non living bodies float

swimming is the process in which we voluntarily move our hands and legs to go through water whereas floating is the process through which we do not do anything other than floating above the water without drowning.
