Brazilian drainage system: Brazil contains one of the world's most extensive river system consisting of eight major drainage systems. The Amazon and the Tocantins-Araguaia basins occupy half of the  total drainage area in this territory and in Northeast, it is Sao Francisco basin that forms the drainage system of Brazil.
