Difference between the endocrine and the exocrine glands

Endocrine gland:

It releases chemical substances called hormones
It is a ductless gland
it releases the hormone directly into the blood streams
Targets sites are far away from the site of secretion
Eg: Salivary gland, Sebaceous gland etc

Exocrine gland:

It releases chemical substances or catalysts called enzymes
It has ducts
It releases its secretions through the duct to the target sites
Target sites are near to the site of secretions
Eg : Pituitary gland, Thyroid gland
