Reflection occurs when a ray of light strikes a plane surface such as a mirror and strike back at the same angle called the angle of incidence and angel of reflection.
Refraction occurs when a ray is said to have strike a plane surface like- mirror at some angle of incidence and reflected back; but not on the same angle of reflection
Mechanically-
Angle of Incidence = Angle of Reflection, So Reflection.
Angle of Incidence ≠ Angle of Reflection, So Refraction.
