difference is that. The thermal power is produced by burning coal, petroleum or natural gas in thermal generator. ButHydro-electricity or hydel power isderived from the force of running water by means of dynamo driven by hydro-turbine.
thermal power is non renewable but hydel power is renewable.
Thermal power causes pollution but hydel power is pollution free

in Hyde power project water power rotates theturbines and they are connected to the generator and in this way they produce electricity but in thermal power plant steam power is used to rotate the turbines which are connected to the generator and they produce electricity. hope it helped you. mark this answer as brainlist
