Thermal disassociate is generally used for salts, acids, bases and is process of their separation into cationic and anionic counter parts
Eg-Na2CO3-2Na+CO3(2-)
Thermal decomposition is the decomposition of species into another species
Eg-Na2CO3-Na2O+CO2
