- these are those molecules which are undergo permanent change on heating .
- they are do no recycle or reuse
- They can not show cross-linking btw chains
- For eg: Bakelite
Thermoplastic
- these are the polymers which are easily soften on heating and cool when harden
- these show cross linking btw the chains
- they can be recycled or reuse
- for eg: Nylon 66
