The plastic which can be melt and can be used again by heating is called thermoplastic. Examples : plastic containers, disposal containers etc.
The plastic which cannot be melt and cannot be used again by heating is called thermosetting plastic. Examples :bakellite, melamine etc.

thermosetting plastics= These are the plastics which when moulded once, cannot be softened by heating
Example - Bakelite and Malamine
Bakelite are used for making electrical switches ,handles of various utensils etc.
Malamine are used for making floor , tiles, kitchen wares and fabrics which resist fire.
Thermoplastics = These are the plastics which get deformed easily on heating and can be bent easily
Example - polythene and some of the containers
These are used for manufacturing toys , combs, car parts and various types of containers.
