We have to find the gain percentage.

Solution:

Mr Gupta purchase a house for ₹2,50,000 and spends ₹50,000 on repairs

So, the total cost price of the house is 250000+50000=300000 rupees

He sells it for ₹4,00,000.

Now the gain percentage is given as-

$\frac{400000 - 300000}{300000} \times 100 \\ \frac{100000}{300000} \times 100 \\ \frac{1}{3} \times 100 \\ = 33.33\%$

Mr Gupta's gain is 33.33%.
