Thunder and lighting are heated and seen respectively when thunderstorms occurs.

Lightning is electrical discharge during thunderstorms.I t is very hot and make a big pressure if air around it which causes thunder.

Thunder is a very loud sound heard in thunderstorms. Its like a boom.

Note-Lightning is heard before thunder.

Thunder is sound ( or sonic) energy while lightning is electromagnetic energy.....
Lightning is caused due to an electrons jump between a  cloud and Earth or between cloud and cloud..........The intense heat released during this process leads to an explosion that we hear as thunder......We see lightning first and hear the thunder a little later as light travels faster than sound..................
