Tropical rain forest
Tropical rain forest is a broad term. It means, in the tropical areas if rainfall is pretty good (greater than 100cm annually) then we can easily find 'tropical rain forests'.
Tropical rain forests are also called as 'moist tropical forest. (In tropical region there can be either moist tropical forest or dry tropical forest depending on the average rainfall)
Tropical rain forest have following four categories- tropical wet evergreen (>250 cm) , tropical semi evergreen (200–250 cm), tropical moist deciduous (100–200 cm), littoral and swamp (100–300 cm).
Montane forests are found in mountainous areas and may contain plants such as oaks, rhododendrons, and pines, which are characteristic of temperate deciduous forests. At higher altitudes, temperatures are cooler. Even close to the equator, frost and snow can occur.
