According to question,

Case I

X-Y =26..........eq 1

Case II

X= 3y........eq2

putting x=3y in eq 1

3y-y=26

2y=26

y=26/2

y=13

putting y=13

x=3y

x=3×13

x=26

Thus, the numbers are 13 and 26

• Sum of these two Number

Explanation

Let,

• First number be = x
• Second Number be = y

So,A/C to question

( Difference between two number is 26)

==> x - y = 26 -------------equ(1)

Again,

(one number is three times other )

==> x = 3y

==> x - 3y = 0 ------------equ(2)

Subtract equ(1) & equ(2)

==> -y + 3y = 26

==> 2y = 26

==>y = 26/2

==> y = 13

Keep value of y in equ(1)

==> x - 13 = 26

==>x = 26 + 13

==>y = 39

Hence

• First Number will be (x) = 39
• Second Number will be (y) = 13
