user mobility and device portability. User mobility refers to a user who has. access to the same or similar telecommunication services at different places, i.e.,the user can be mobile, and the services will follow him or her. With device portability, the communication device moves.

Difference between user mobility and device mobility is :

  • User Mobility - User mobility refers to as users who have access to a similar telecommunication services at different places that is the user can be mobile and can use the similar services offered by the telecommunication network.

Example - User can login from anywhere into his account using any desktop or mobile for emails and other stuff.

  • Device mobility - Device mobility refers to the movement of the communication device from one location to another with or without a user.For device mobility to take place, the communication type must be wireless.

Example - When a mobile connection is weak , the device performs handover to its nearest transmitter for better connection.
