Difference between valves and septum :

Valves:

  • Heart has four valves-one for each chamber of heart. They keep blood moving through the heart in right direction.
  • The mitral and tricuspid valves are located in between atria and ventricles.
  • The aotric and pulmonic valves are located in between ventricles and major blood vessels leaving the heart.

Septum:

  • The septum of the heart is dividing the wall between the left and right sides of the heart.
  • That portion of the septum that seprates two chambers of the heart is termed the atrial septum while the portion of the septum that lies between the lower chambers of the heart is called the ventricular septum.
