The major difference between Vertebrates and Invertebrates is that Vertebrates(e.g human beings) have a backbone or spinal cord whereas invertebrates lack backbone.Vertebrates are always bilaterally symmetrical, while invertebrates could show either bilateral or radial symmetry.

Vertebrates have a backbone whileinvertebrates do not have a backbone.Vertebrates include the animals of the phylum Chordata. Invertebratesinclude the lower animals than chordates. The main difference between vertebrates and invertebrates is the presence or absence of a backbone.
