Warm current flows from Equator to poles whereas cold currents originate in the polar region and flow towards the Equator. Warm currents move from the equator to the poles ex Gulf Stream, South Atlantic Current and Cold currents move from poles to the equator ex Labrador Current,

Difference between warm current and cold current
Cold current:
- Cold current is defined as the ocean basin is placed in the eastern side to flow towards the equator. It is out of the northern region to flow in the equator.
- In the cold current, they create hazards for ships in north Atlantic because of current carries iceberg from the Baffin Bay. It arises from the northern regions.
Warm current:
- Warm current is nothing but the ocean basin placed in the western region to flow through the equatorial region.
- They carry warm water to the British Isles and Iceland.
