World record means a record which is made in world..It means that it is the highest or greatest record in the world.
Olympic record is made in Olympics only...Suppose a world record in any field is 10 sec but, the highest record in Olympics is 11 sec, 11 sec would be the Olympic record

world record can be set during the tournaments like Asia cup, us open , French open , etc.
a world record should not always be an Olympic record.
while on the other hand Olympic record are the ones which have never happened during the Olympics
