With the spread of education the society has reduced severe strictness with girls. But it is not %.
There is some unequalness between girls and boys. Girls are not given proper education while boys are given.
Even if girls score 90% they are forced to marry ( in some areas) while , if a boy even fails he is sent abroad. The reason is because he is a BOY.
Girls are thought to be inferior to boys in matters of strength .
WE CAN SAY THE SOCIETY HAS A SOFT CORNER FOR BOYS AND NOT FOR GIRLS.
