Coriander seeds grown on the tips of the flowering coriander plants, that are leafy spice/herb (used in coriander leaf chatni/sauce).
The dry seeds are brown in color .
They are used to make spice mixture like CURRY POWDER, used in Indian cocking extensively.
Onions are tubers, grow as bulbs under soil. There are many varieties and have strong flavor. They are used as spice/ condiments and used in many food preparation in most countries.

You have posed a question that, with fundamental culinary experience, should never be asked.
I would suggest that you rewind a bit and start at the beginning.
The difference between coriander and onion is like the difference between a potato and a grape. Or a carrot and parsley. Or garlic and oregano. Or shallots and dill.
They cannot be compared.

Coriander is the seed of cilantro (aka culantro), and is a spice. It’s cooling to the body and rather sweet in flavour. Onions are a vegetable, in the same family as garlic. They can be heating when eaten raw and are considered pungent in Ayurveda, but cooked versions are sweeter.

Coriander is the seed of a plant with lobed leaves. The leaves are frequently called cilantro and are also used as seasoning. Onion is a bulb that grows underground in many layers. It is not a ruber. Onions are closely related to garlic, chives, and bunching onions. Both the underground part and the green tops of very young onions can be used for seasoning, but the tops of bulb onions are too tough to chew.
