Traditional communication took place face-to-face, through cabled telephone, and through the snail speed mail system, postcard and envelopes. It was not the instantaneous method.
Though those modes are still in vogue, modern communication is more instantaneous and takes place in emails, instant messengers, text messages, on social sites, video conference, teleconference, and other features on the Internet.
