Family of procreation refers to the family you create through marriage and by having or adopting children. In other words, the familyof orientation is the family you were born into involuntarily. Family of procreation is thefamily that you create.

The differences between family orientation and family procreation are as follows -

  • When a child is born and/or brought up in a family, that family is called the family of orientation. For a person, a family of orientation is that family in which he/she was there from his/her birth and then spent a long time.
  • The word "procreation" originated from the Latin word "procreate" which means "bring forth". When children are adopted by a family, then that family is called a family of procreation.
  • The primary difference between family orientation and family procreation is that in a family of orientation the parents involuntarily bring forth a child and they decide to nurture him/her. But in the case of family procreation, the parents choose a child and decide to adopt him/her.
  • Another difference between family orientation and family procreation is that the motive of family orientation is to embed children socially. But the motive of family procreation evolves around the adoption of a child and growing their socialization.
