A salt with water of crystallization is called hydrated salt .
when an hydrated salt is heated it can lose its water of crystallization then it is called anhydrous salt
Ex: CuSO4.10H2O is blue which when heated becomes CuSO4 which is white

Explanation:
1)Hydrated salts contain water of crystalization but anhydrous salts don't .
2) Hydrated salts have some characteristic colour but anhydrous don't.
3) Anhydrous salts (most of them) are hygroscopic but no Hydrated salt is never hygroscopic
4) Hydrated salts are made up of crystals (i.e. they have fixed structure at molecular level) but anhydrous aren't made up of crystals
