- Igloo is stationary whereas the houseboat is mobile.
- Igloo is built for shelter in extreme cold& snowy areas whereas houseboats are built in places that are especially prone to flooding.

  igloo is a snow house. Seen in Arctic regions. It is usually dome shaped. Its a traditional shelter.

houseboats are
 modified boast for human dwelling. Its either moored or motorized. In Kerala, house boats used for leisure trips are locally called kettuvallams.
