Artificial classification system
Classification based on the basis of
external, morphological characters
like habit, leaf types. vegetative
structures, etc.
It was given by Linnaeus.
It separated closely related species
and was not a very good system of
classification.
Natural classification system
Classification based on the basis of
both external, morphological
characters and internal features, like
anatomy, embryology,
phytochemistry, etc.
It was a better system as compared
to artificial system.
