Sound is the vibrations caused by a source which travels through a medium to our ears while vibrations are the oscillations made by a body in a time period.
Sound is a form of energy produced from vibrations and can be heard
But vibrations arise as we move an object
Eg when we move the hands of tonks we feel vibrations
When we drag a heavy box we can bfeel the vibrations.
Clearly sound is an application of vibration
Also sound needs a medium to be felt , to be heard but vibrations can be seen easily as in the case of tonks
