stereotype is a generalization or an assumption, people make about a person or groups of person .for e.g.. a common assumption is that girls cry boys do not.

while discrimination is when we express this feeling of prejudice ( when we judge or have an idea about them before we actually know anything about them, is called prejudice) in action , it is called discrimination .
