◆"Nice" is one of those words that was charged with meaning in 18th century English.

◆To this day, some of these meaning survive, in the sense that "nice," when applied to a person, still implies that he/she is pleasant and kind.

◆On the other hand, "good," when applied to a person, has powerful ethical connotations.
