Hello !

Arteries:-
<> They have thick walls
<> They  blood from the heart to the parts of the body
<> All the arteries carry oxygenated blood except the pulmonary artery which carries deoxygenated blood from the heart back to the lungs

<> Arteries do not have valves

Veins :-
<> Veins don't have thick walls , that is , veins have thin walls
<> Veins carry  blood from the  parts of the body  to the heart
<> All the veins carry deoxygenated blood , except , the pulmonary vein which carries oxygenated blood to heart.

<> Veins have valves , to prevent the back flow of blood ,and allows the blood to flow only in 1 direction

Answer :-

First of all, what are arteries and veins ?

Ans - Veins and arteries are the structures which form extensive channels inside the body to carry blood from the heart to various parts of the body and vice-versa.

Arteries :-

  • The arteries carry oxygenated blood from the heart to various parts of the body.

  • The arteries consist of thick walls.

  • Blood flows under high pressure through the arteries.

  • Arteries are deeply located in the body.

  • Arteries are highly muscular.

Veins :-

  • Veins carry de-oxygenated blood from the various parts of the body to the heart.

  • The veins consist of thin walls.

  • Blood flows under low pressure inside the veins.

  • Veins are less deeply located in the body.

  • Veins are superficially muscular.

Exceptions :-

The pulmonary vein carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart.

The pulmonary artery carries de-oxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs.
