m=0.5kg
u=20m/s
v=0m/s
t=0.02s
a=(v-u)/t
=-20/0.02
=-1000m/s2
F=ma
=0.5*(-1000)
-500
Therefore, the force exerted by the hammer on the nail is -500N.
